Steve Elms, Chairman
![]() Managing Partner, Aisling Capital
Mr. Elms serves as a Managing Director of the
Perseus-Soros BioPharmaceutical Fund (PSBF) and Managing Partner of
Aisling Capital LLC. He joined PSBF in mid-2000 from the Life
Sciences Investment Banking Group of Chase H&Q (formerly Hambrecht
and Quist) where he was a Principal. During his five years at
Hambrecht and Quist, Mr. Elms was involved in over 60 financing and
M&A transactions, helping clients raise in excess of $3.3 billion in
capital. Prior to Hambrecht and Quist, Mr. Elms traded
mortgage-backed securities at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. His
previous healthcare sector experience includes over two years as a
pharmaceutical sales representative for Marion Laboratories and two
years as a consultant for The Wilkerson Group. Mr. Elms serves as a
director of MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: MAPP) and a number of
private companies.
Mr. Elms received a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Dov Goldstein, M.D.

Dr. Goldstein serves as a Principal of Aisling
Capital. Previously, Dr. Goldstein was Executive Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer of Vicuron Pharmaceuticals up until its
acquisition by Pfizer for $1.9 billion. While at Vicuron
Pharmaceuticals, he raised over $250 million dollars in an IPO,
PIPE, Follow-on, and block trade transactions. He led the valuation
and finance due diligence for the merger with Biosearch Italia (Nuovo
mercato: BIO.MI), the first US and Italian public to public company
merger. He also ran the investor relations and press relations
efforts for the company. Prior to Vicuron, Dr. Goldstein was
Director of Venture Analysis at HealthCare Ventures. He also
completed an internship in the Department of Medicine, at
Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Goldstein currently serves as a
director of ADMA Biologics, BioRelix, CardioKine, Cempra
Pharmaceuticals, Esperion Therapeutics, and Topaz Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Goldstein received his M.D. from Yale School of Medicine. He received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and he received his B.S. with honors from Stanford University. Bob Casale
![]() Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Mr. Casale has over 25 years of healthcare
experience. Most recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer of
Adams Respiratory Therapeutics. Mr. Casale joined Adams in 2004 as
Vice President, Marketing and Business Development and was named
Chief Operating Officer in 2006. Mr. Casale was a driving force
behind the growth of the Adams business, which grew from $60 million
to near $500 million under his leadership. He led the
diversification of the Adams' portfolio of products by launching
Mucinex® D and DM, Mucinex® for Children, Mucinex® Nasal Spray, and
acquiring the Delsym® brand. Adams was sold to Reckitt Benckiser in
2008 for $2.3 billion.
Mr. Casale began his career in 1983 at a Wall Street law firm and joined the legal division of Warner Lambert in 1986. In 1993, he was appointed Warner-Lambert's Vice President of Marketing for the company's upper respiratory and gastrointestinal (GI) consumer products and oversaw several brands, including Benadryl®, Sudafed®, Zantac® 75 and Rolaids®. Mr. Casale also served as a global vice president for Warner-Lambert's GI and skin care businesses. Following Warner-Lambert's acquisition by Pfizer Inc., he served as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development for Pfizer's Consumer Healthcare Division. Mr. Casale is also the non-executive Chairman of Topaz Pharmaceuticals and serves on the Board of Directors of NextWave Pharmaceuticals, both specialty pharmaceutical companies. Nutritional Products
Mr. Dubin currently serves as a senior advisor for
the Nutritional Lipids division of DSM Nutritional Products. This
division was formed after the sale of Martek Biosciences Corporation
(a leader in the innovation, development, production and sale of
high-value products from microbial sources that promote health and
wellness through nutrition) to DSM in February 2011 for close to
$1.1 billion. Mr. Dubin was appointed Chief Executive Officer of
Martek Biosciences in July 2006 and served as CEO until November
2011. He played a key role in developing Martek’s business from an
R&D company to a fully integrated, profitable, commercial
organization with close to $500 million in annual sales.
Mr. Dubin joined Martek in April 1992, and went on to fill a variety of roles, including Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Secretary & General Counsel, and Senior Vice President of Business Development. In 2003, Mr. Dubin was appointed President of Martek. Prior to joining Martek, Mr. Dubin spent twelve years in a number of positions at Suburban Bank (now a part of Bank of America) including Vice President of Suburban Capital Corporation, the bank's venture capital subsidiary. Mr. Dubin holds a Bachelors degree from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Juris Doctor degree from the National Law Center at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Frank has over 35 years of industry-leading
healthcare experience. Frank was the President and Chief Customer
Officer at Johnson & Johnson’s Consumer Group where he was
responsible for more than $8 billion in U.S. sales. He has led
business turnarounds, developed internal/external strategies, driven
organizational (re)structuring, and aggressively managed financial
resources. He has extensive experience launching some of the
largest, most successful products in the industry, deep expertise in
integrating acquisitions and extensive knowledge in market
development across multiple distribution channels.
Before J&J, Frank had key sales and customer/industry development roles at Pfizer, Inc./Pfizer Consumer Healthcare as VP Sales USA. Frank began his career at Warner-Lambert Company in 1976 as a retail representative. Frank received his BA degree from Nova Southeastern University and a BS degree in Business Administration later in his career from California Coast University E Program. Frank is currently an Advisory Board Member for DrinkDreamwater and is President of Frank Maione and Associates, LLC. |
